Hi guys,
I am from Germany. Guitarist and MIJ guitar collector. Did a few deals to France before.
I am searching for a nice Greco LP Standard, from 1979 to 1990. No pancake bodies, 3 piece necks, or chambered models.
Stupidly sold an EG59-85 2 years ago....
Due to cites it is a bit hard to import guitars with rosewood fb from Japan now...
Thanks

Hey Lumi, welcome to he French Mij forum.
From all MIJ LPs I had, I kept two Navs and three Grecos MCs, unfortunately I sold one not so long ao. Hope u find one back, there are lower models usually for sale in France. I let you know if I see something.

Regarding CITES, I just import a LP CUSTOM Navigator with ebony fret board last week, without any certificate or declaration about wood or manufacturing year. Customs didn't ask me anything. I am not sure that CITES has a real impact on guitar import for the moment... At least in France it seems to be not considered for personal import. If your doing business with large volume it's maybe different

Only profesionnals sellers take care about the CITES. I bought a guitar from Japan without any certificate for the customs. Only paid the taxes, nothing else was checked on the parcel.

On my side, the parcel has been open and I guess inspected (Chronopost adhesive tape was closing the parcel on one end), but I only paid the import duties like Le Juge.

Hi,
thanks for warm welcome:)
As far as I know ebony is not part of the CITES restrictions. Apart from this I am not so sure if the German customs are like the French. .. I am afraid they are for more "accurate" in doing their job..
@Djodjo- I can't remember - Did you buy my Bacchus?

You can check CITES list here:
http://checklist.cites.org/#/en/search/ … er_page=20
Both ebonies and rosewoods are in appendix 2 of Cites list (+ Brazilian Rosewood in appendix 1 which is the most restrictive category)
